The Russell Line of Polyethylene Bags are made by heat sealing and cutting rolls of film. Rolls of tubing or sheeting are fed through a machine that draws material out to the proper length. The machine then cycles to place a seal on the material, or to gusset them, and then cut it off to make an individual bag. Using up-to-date manufacturing technology, the machines that produce our line of polybags employ servo drive motors for optimal control and accuracy.

In some cases, particularly with larger bags, such as Gaylord or Drum liners, it is convenient to have the bags put up on rolls for easier dispensing. Smaller bags are also available on continuous rolls perforated at specific lengths or individually boxed to meet customer demands.

Polyethylene Single Wound Sheeting: Widths for poly sheeting can range from 1” wide up to 87” wide. Gauges range from .0005 to .020 in thickness.

Polyethylene Centerfold: Centerfold poly is much the same as tubing except that one edge of the film is slit open. Sizes range from 4” (opens to 8” wide) up to 87” (opens to 174” wide).

Polyethylene Tubing: Poly tubing is made using the blown film process. A continuous tube of poly film is extruded for widths that range from 2” to 68” and up to 120” if gusseted.

PARTS BAGS

Bottom Sealed: Poly Bags are made using poly tubing material and applying a seam to one end of the material. Bottom seal construction is commonly used for side gusseted bags and bags thicker than .004. Sizes range from 4 x 8 to 50 x 120.

Box Liners: are perfect for Gaylord containers. The gusseting allows the lilner to expand as needed to fit the box.

Drum liners: protect the inner drum surface from erosion, wear and corrosion as well as protecting against leaking. Drum liners conform to the inside diameter.

The Russell Line of Poly Bags are made using the Blown Film Extrusion process in which small plastic pellets (called resin) are melted down under controlled conditions so that they are pliable molten actually and pressed (extruded) through a circular die gap to form a continuous tube of plastic as thin as .0004 inch to thicknesses that may go beyond .01 inch. Sometimes pellets containing pigment are blended with the clear pellets to make film of various colors.
